Approvals

As ceramic infrared heater and component manufacturers, all Ceramicx Ltd. products are CE marked as a requirement in compliance with the European Union’s health, safety, and environmental protection standards for products sold inside the EEA.

We’ve also gained Underwriters Laboratories (UL) approval on the majority of standard Ceramic and Quartz Medium Wave components.

Underwriters Laboratory (UL)

Ceramicx Ireland Ltd. products carrying the symbol indicating compliance with UL standard 499:

  • FTE/FFE in the range 150 – 1000 W / 100 – 480 V
  • HTE/HFE in the range 125 – 500 W / 100 – 480V
  • SFSE in the range 150 – 750 W / 100 – 480V
  • FQE in the range 400-1000 W / 230 V
  • ESEB/ESES up to 100 W / up to 250 V
  • ESER up to 250 W / up to 250 V

In accordance with this recognition, Ceramicx Ireland has been issued with a Certificate of Compliance, stored under UL file reference number: E214574.

As a means of identifying any products that have been produced under UL’s Component Recognition Program, UL’s Recognised Component Mark (known as a backward RU) may be used in conjunction with other required markings (voltage, wattage, etc). The appearance of this mark is shown in the image above.

Only those components bearing the UL Recognized Component Marking should be considered as being covered by UL’s Recognition and Follow-Up Service. It’s important to note that the UL mark relates only to the ceramic heating element and not to the assembly that the element is built into.

The Ceramicx range of ceramic heaters, infrared panel heaters, infrared bulbs, and Quartz heaters with UL approval will be continuously expanded. We’ll update this page regularly to show the most recently approved products.

European Conformity (CE)

In return for fulfilling the CE marking requirements, Ceramicx Ireland Ltd. or its agent, may cover the entire European (EEA) market using only one approval procedure for the topics covered in the directives.

The attachment of the CE mark to our products is based on a formal compliance statement which takes the form of a Declaration of Conformity. The Declaration of Conformity is a “self-declaration” statement which contains information including who the manufacturer is, what directives are involved, and what standards are applicable. Its main purpose is to show proof of liability for compliance with EU regulations involved to the authorities and customs.
